What is refractive surgery?

Laser refractive surgery is a procedure done to correct nearsightedness, farsightedness and astigmatism. It as become increasingly popular in recent years. Millions of these procedures have been performed throughout the country with an overwhelming rate of satisfaction.

The procedure itself involves reshaping the cornea in order to better focus the light that enters the eye and ultimately improve vision clarity. Depending on the type of refractive surgery the patient undergoes, the specific method for correcting the corneal shape differs.
